BELIEVING HIS WORD

Faith is a trust solely and exclusively used to describe two phenomena in the Bible – God and His word. These phenomena lift us above our own abilities into God’s possibilities. Abraham had faith in God and experienced possibilities beyond his capability.

The first step in exercising Biblical faith is putting your trust in God, “He that changeth not”. Trusting that God will make that miracle happen is not enough, knowing His word concerning that miracle and believing it concludes the whole matter. My word will not return void, it will definitely accomplish the purpose for which it was said. Though it may delay but it will definitely come to pass.

God’s word is His treasure, more valuable than anything – the heavens and the earth shall pass away but not His word. Abraham believed God’s word concerning him.  Years passed . . . until it became medically impossible for his wife to bear a child, Abraham didn’t doubt God. After he got a son, he didn’t question God when he was asked to sacrifice his son. That is true faith.

Faith is all about trusting God and believing His word. For this faith to work for you, you must know him first and study his word. Faith isn’t given; it’s nurtured.
