HOW TO SPICE UP YOUR PRAYER LIFE

Whenever we are having our regular morning praying, my little boy sleeps all through. He is usually very active when he wakes up in the morning and super-active after the morning devotion, but he is in dreamland during the devotion. Some of us adults can find prayer boring too. Usually it is because we don't know what to say or we don’t know where to start from or how to say what we want without being selfish or too demanding.

Prayer is a means of communication between us and our Heavenly Father. Also it can be seen as a means to communicate with a friend that has always been there for us and will always be there for us. When we talk to our best friends, we can talk for hours non-stop but when communicating with God; it is one of the longest-short conversations ever. We believe that God knows it all, and yes! He does but in other for us to establish a good relationship with Him, we go to Him in prayer.

In 1 Thess. 5:17, we were asked to pray continually. So how do we do that when a 5-minute prayer is too long? – By talking to God about everything . . . about your needs, fears, strengths and weaknesses, what gets you angry, what makes you happy, tell him about your family, tell him about the kind of day you want to have or how your day went. He is ready to listen as long as you are ready to talk.
