THREE REASONS WHY GIVING IS BETTER THAN LENDING
I have always thought that lending is a way of providing
help until God showed me the flaws in lending. I lend money out to friends a
lot of time but never for once did I see it from God’s point of view until now.
1. Gets You Stuck and
Disappointed
I made plans based on the money I borrowed to a friend. When
it was time for me to get the money, I got excuses. I was able to sought out
the challenge I had but I still didn’t understand. I made more plans based on
that same money and got disappointed time and time again.
2. Ruin Relationships
When the disappointments were getting too much, it resulted
to harsh words and threats from my part towards my friend. Though he tried
explaining, I couldn’t see reason in anything he was saying.
3. Prevents You from Reaping the
Benefits of Giving
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto your bosom”(Luke 6:38) – that’s the promise of the LORD,
but all these are lost when a clause is attached to our giving. The reward that
we might receive has been blocked by that clause to pay back.
Let’s try and let go of lending and embrace giving, and
receive God’s blessings of giving.
