DO WE TRULY HATE THE LIGHT?

I remember when street lights were first installed in my area, Jakpa Rd, Effurun, Nigeria. The street was very bright and beautiful at night but i wasn't really happy about it because of my night activities. But with the arrival of the street lights, everything changed. No more shadows to cover my dark secrets. . . Things were no longer the same. If i was doing the right things i'd be proud, i'd want the whole world to see me. But i knew in my heart they were wrong, truthfully i was ashamed to do them out in the open. I secretly desired that the street lights will get damaged, run over by a car or malfunction but none of my wishes came to pass. Even when they got bad, they were repaired.

This is what is written in the Bible men's love for the darkness, "and this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light lest his deeds should be exposed" (John 3:19-20).

A lot of us feel judged when we hear the word of God; instead of putting away our old ways, we run away from His word. It may feel like it's an impossible task to change to a completely new person especially when the old ways is so alluring but God knows that, and that's why He sent His son, the light of the world to drive out every darkness from our lives. . . That's only when we accept His light.
Good news! The light has come, it has come to stay and the darkness comprehended it not.
