THE LIVING FAITH

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11: 1). Faith is the evidence which confirms a theory. Let’s say there is a court case and you have been asked to present an evidence to back up your claim, faith is what you present. Faith is simply a complete trust in GOD; "without faith it is impossible to please to Him" (Heb. 11:6a).

We all have faith within us, we believe in GOD, but our believe in His power is limited. Many a time we feel like we need to assist Him, that there are some things we must do in other for Him to help us. In our quest to assist GOD, we fall victims to anxiety, worry, fear etc. all elements of the devil which directly or indirectly leads us to doubt the absolute power of GOD.

Let your works be in agreement with your faith; works walking in agreement with the words that comes out of your mouth. The woman with the issue of blood is an example of works and faith in agreement. She thought in her heart that if she could touch the master’s garment, she would be healed. She struggled to touch Him in the crowd, though she met stiff opposition she didn’t relent, and when she finally touched Jesus’ garment, she was healed instantly (Luke 8:43-48). Faith is very crucial to healing, deliverance and to live a victorious life.

Faith grows, like a plant; it needs water and sunlight. . . It needs to be fueled constantly. The Bible made us to understand that “faith comes by hearing the word of GOD” (Rom. 10:17). Constant studying of God’s word increases our faith, limits our doubts. We are also advised to look onto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

The living faith is the trust in God which shows in our actions and works, crucial to our relationship with Him and by it we can obtain a good report (Heb. 11:2).
