PREPARE THE CHILD
There is a big difference between preparing the child for
the road and trying to remove all obstacles to pave the way for the child. The
latter can be destructive when we are no longer around to clear the road.
In Psalm 78 from verse 4 to 8, the psalmist talked about
telling the next generation about the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, teaching
them the commandments and in turn, they will tell their children. The main
purpose is that they would put their trust in the LORD and will not forget to
keep his commandments.
Through conversation and demonstration i.e. our lifestyle not
just our words will show them a trustworthy path to take.
Preparing has to do with equipping the child to deal with
difficulties they might encounter in life. No matter what lies ahead, we want
them to be equipped with the strength of the LORD.
