WHAT MAKES A SAINT

Saints were not born saints; they chose to follow Christ. When they fall, they chose to get back up. A friend defined a saint as someone who had fallen but never gave up on himself, because he knew God had not given up on him; someone who dared to get back up after falling. They believe in the saving power of God’s grace and not their works.

When we fall we shall arise again; even in the dark, the LORD shall be a light unto us (Micah 7:8). Further reading shows that the prophet Micah had sinned against God but He is willing to take responsibility for his sin. He believes that the LORD will hear him and bring him into righteousness.

Today, Jesus has taken away the responsibilities of our sins and has offered a better route back to God. Where sin is great, His grace is sufficient for us. If any man should sin, we have an advocate in Heaven who speaks on our behalf, Jesus Christ (I John 2:1).

God’s grace makes us saints through Christ Jesus.
