SIN BUILDS A HOME WHERE IT IS ALLOWED TO STAY
There was a period I find myself making the same mistake over
and over again; and each time I made a mistake, I went down on my knees to ask
for mercy. When it became too frequent, I made a decision to wait a little before asking for forgiveness. This decision only made me go deeper in
sin – i allowed one sin to stay and it gave birth to more disobedience. Little by
little my focus was drifting away from the LORD.
When sin is allowed to stay, it builds a home. You are living in sin when it no longer irritates you, when it has become a norm with you. But
a Christian who sins and acknowledges that he has sinned goes back to the
Father and ask for mercy.
Like the songwriter said, “Your mercy said no, sin will never
ever take control” of my life. In my weakness i felt His grace lifting me to greater heights.
When sin sets in, the prayer life of a Christian goes on vacation. The devil uses this medium as an avenue to remind the Christian of his past and how unworthy he is to receive forgiveness from Christ.
