WHEN DOES ETERNITY BEGIN
Many a time I receive invitations for birthday parties, marriages, burial ceremonies, etc. I don’t really give a definite answer to an invitation, always looking for a reason not to be present; I’ve been like that for long. But there’s a particular invitation I do not turn down – an invitation that will add something meaningful to my life.
In Isaiah 55:1, the LORD said to His people that were in
difficult circumstances, “Come, all who are thirsty, come to the waters; and
you who have no money, come and buy and eat! Come and buy wine and milk without
money and without cost”. This is God’s offer of spiritual nourishment and
everlasting life.
Many a time we think that eternal life begins when we die
but it’s not really like that. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus
as our LORD and personal Savior. Accept Jesus’s invitation to follow Him today
– come to Him if you are thirsty, hungry, alone, abandoned, depressed, sad,
rejected, oppressed and in need of companionship, and your life will no longer
remain the same.
Eternity begins the moment you accept the LORD’s invitation.
