HOW MUCH CAN I HANDLE ON MY OWN

I poured a glass of water into my hand to see how much water my hand can hold. At the end, I was only able to account for a tablespoon; a large portion of the water had slipped through my fingers.

Many a time I find myself searching for solutions, trying to control the outcome of circumstances I had no influence over. No matter how hard I try, there is only so much I can do; and at the end I could only account for a tablespoon.

Isaiah told us that God can account for everything; he has measured the waters in the world, the dust of the earth, weighed the mountains and the hills (Isaiah 40:12). His hands are large enough; we need not hold more than He has designed our hands to carry. We can trust Him to handle the things that overwhelm us.
