Why Is It Good To Remember Your Neighbour?

A couple of Christians from a particular church decided to go out and distribute food in the street. One of the ladies that received their token was overjoyed. One of the Christian sisters that were part of the team distributing food said that when she was a little girl, a particular woman that was in church every Sunday was starving. Nobody in church knew she was starving.

This can be a gentle reminder for all of us to be more aware of those around us and, as Paul said in Galatians 6:10 "do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."

Remember the story of Job where he lost everything? He lost his health, his family, his wealth. He lost it all. At the end of the book, God gave it all back to Job. Why? Because Job prayed for himself? No. The Bible says, "After Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before" (Job 42:10).

There is great healing in remembering your friends amidst your challenges.
